Hands Up Who Hates Commuting

Employees want to do it, companies want them to do it, society thinks it could help solve some of its most intractable problems and technology is making it increasingly efficient – I’m talking about working from home.

The rise in home working has been one of the most startling employment trends of the decade.

Nearly a third of workers spent time last year working from home. And ‘work from home’ has become a top Google search, even outstripping ‘buy a franchise’, 'buy a business' and, um, Matt Damon on occasion (although I did go through a few celebrities on Google Web Trends before I found one that dipped below the 'work from home' line!).
