Prospect of an Affordable Franchise for Minorities, Veterans and Women

From Nation's Restaurant News: Amid the deepest economic slowdown since the Great Depression, restaurant franchisors are enhancing or developing programs to broaden their franchisee bases as a means to grow business.

Franchisors as diverse as KFC, Pizza Hut, Domino’s Pizza and Little Caesar's Pizza all aim programs at minorities, women and veterans. Domino’s, for example, offers veterans a $20,000 discount off the franchise fee.

Domino's Chair Says Pizza Franchise Will Survive

From MLive.com (Michigan): David Brandon has to figure out how to convince people to buy pizza during what he expects to be "perhaps the deepest, darkest recession of most of our lifetimes."

But the Domino's Pizza chairman and chief executive, speaking in a phone interview from his desk in Ann Arbor Township, said his $1.44 billion company would survive this economic crisis. In fact, Brandon says Domino's could survive for years in an economy like this.
