Joe the Plumber Sparks Interest in Plumbing Businesses for Sale

Obama and McCain have sought to make political capital out of 'Joe'Joe the Plumber hasn't just given the Republican Party a prop to embody their blue-collar credentials.
Joe Wurzelbacher - to use his proper name - emerged from obscurity to become a political football in early October when he took Democratic presidential nominee Barak Obama to task about his tax plans and was later mentioned 23 times in the final presidential debate.
Wurzelbacher was planning to buy the plumbing business he worked for but feared he'd pay more tax under the Democrats.
But while the incident seemingly did little for his rival, the Republican candidate John McCain, in the polls, it's possible that the spike in enquiries on plumbing businesses on BusinessesForSale.com was down to the story.
