Smoothie Franchise Reveals New Menu

Tropical Smoothie Café today unveiled significant changes to its menu.

The revamped menu includes a variety of new food and beverage items, reformulated recipes, the addition of Grilled Flatbreads as a permanent offering and a whole new tropical look.

The new menu debuts this month in all 280 Tropical Smoothie Cafés throughout the United States and culminates an 18-month long development process that involved input from focus groups, restaurant vendors and Tropical Smoothie Café area developers and franchisees.

Restaurant Franchises Flex Marketing Muscles to get Customers Back

Renewed attention toward one of the most customer-facing aspects of the business, marketing and advertising, has been seen from heavyweights Chipotle, Boston Market, Denny’s, KFC, Pizza Hut and others.

They are all battling what operators have called the largest challenge of 2009, which is capturing enough customer traffic to improve profit margins and generate cash to spur expansion.

Restaurant Franchise Success a Lesson for Expansion

The differing fortunes of a drive-thru restaurant's franchised outlets and company-owned locations is further vindication of the franchise business model.

Sonic Corp has reported that sales had increased at franchised restaurants in the fourth quarter ended 31 August, whereas corporate or joint-venture locations recorded “significantly negative” results.

It's small wonder that the company plans to convert more of its outlets to franchises.
